I am so grateful for how you shape us, encourage us and how you set an example for our children. As a kid, I loved helping my teachers and didn’t mind if people called me the teacher’s pet; to me it was a way for me to practice being a mini-me of someone I looked up to and admired. Mrs. Miller, I still remember having the key to the SRA answer keys and helping out. Mrs. Barber, thanks for teaching me how to write beautifully in cursive.
To my elementary school teachers at Sunshine, yes, I remember you by name: Mrs. Werner, Mrs. Miller, Mrs. Fatsinger, Mrs. Barber, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Perdue, thank you. To my amazing College Professors, Mark Zeigler and Peter A. DeCaro, you made a difference for me. To my parents, Barbara Lenhardt Lydzinski and Richard Lydzinski who chose to be educators, at home as parents and in the classroom and county office dedicating their lives to influencing the lives of their students and education.
I know you all spend countless hours and your own hard earned money behind the scenes preparing the lessons, getting extra goodies for the classroom, grading papers and pouring into being the best you can for everyone else.
As a mom, now, I am so thankful for the MANY educators who have impacted our kids lives, YES, you, Dawn Marie Hernandez, Amy Raquel Matzinger DeGroat, Dauna Werner, Karen Brueggemann, Erin Rocklewitz, Mrs. Hartling, Kari George-Schowalter Chelsea Majinski Katie Kowalkowski Quincy McAdam Mrs. Getchell, Mrs. Gruzca, Mrs. McNorrill, Kellie McKenzie Nicole Melstrand Kikkert Mrs. Kestell, Angela Buskager Little, and SO MANY more incredible educators who deserve to be honored. To all of my friends who chose education as their careers, Thank You!
Thank you for the time you spend with our children. Education is so much more than textbooks and testing. It’s teaching kids how to learn, it’s discipline, it’s being part counselor, part negotiator. You are teaching us all how to be better humans. You often put us (and our kids) before yourselves.
I admire you. There are not enough words to tell you how much I appreciate you. Teacher Appreciation Day/Week is only one way we get to celebrate you. Please know, I am thankful for you every day.
Thank You! You show us how to work. You help us navigate life. You are extraordinary.
